Week 6 - Prototypes and Rule sheet

Hey Mark, yeah the idea with texts sounds like it could work well. It also made me think if you had friends taking part in the playtest happy to watch then if you could collect 5 mobile phones in total then player 1 could have 4 phones on their body (set to vibrate) in the different places that suggest the four movement directions, one of these phones could be sharing player 1’s location live (with Whatsapp/google maps/find my phone) with player 2. Player 2 can then message/ring the phone that corresponds with the direction they want player 1 to go. Does that sound like it would work?

Haha thanks Lizzie, I was thinking about exactly the same approach. Think it’s a pretty good approach, just gotta recruit some brave people. Everyone is on edge about the corona virus over here.

Dear Nomads,

I hope that you are all safe and in good mood. We have finally moved on the prototype welding!!! I started to assemble the final presentation document that you can find here https://unlimitedcma.files.wordpress.com/2020/04/tip-spinning-chairs-1.pdf
Unfortunately I cant make it editable, it contains more images than texts, but hopefully you won´t mind it

I will be happy for any of your feedback.

Have a great time! Talk to you tomorrow!

Wow @soly what a wonderful presentation  so great to see your prototype, after following your work all these months, you must feel very satisfied to have to prototype!!!
Have you tried to install it and test its stability and load bearing?

I like the renders showing the insertion of your structure in the chosen location. The vertical rings go together with the tyre wall that is already there and it really creates a fun entrance to the brick building

In terms of plats material I would prefer the woven threads! I see that you went for the orthogonal option for the prototype. Are you planning on trying the diagonal too or you already chose?

I really think it’s cool what you did  and I love the engagement of the local community in the process!

Thank you, Marina!

Yes, the woven option is on the programme! Yesterday we were jumping on the structure, so it should be ok for the use. Today we are painting antirust coat, tomorrow the final color, and weaving is on Sunday programme! then the fixing on Monday probably. If everything goes well, we will make ten of them to install in front of the jumphub and into the pocket park. I will keep you on the track with photos. Now it become interesting finally. Hands on the dirty work
