Doctoral student co-supervised in the School of Geography and the School of English & Drama, Queen Mary University of London. Doctoral research on cultures of metropolitan citizenship drawing on the scholarship of play, performance theory, cultural theory and performativity, with fieldwork in Tokyo (2019), London (2020) and Rio de Janeiro (2021).

My professional background is in urban design, masterplanning, regeneration and area-based planning policy. I have also worked in research on a range of built environment related topics, taught in design schools in Britain and across Europe, headed up a design advocacy organisation, and held a senior position in a sustainability social enterprise.

I volunteer with, and am funded by the UK Economic & Social Research Council through and Japan Society for Promotion of Sciences
